But Kalkan is more: it’s the perfect starting point for many interesting excursions and fun trips.
Xanthos, Letoon, Pinara, Tlos, Kekova, Demre, Myra en (a bit further away but very well accessible) Olympos and Aspendos; just a small selection of the great range of possibilities. The cave tombs of Demre (or Kale), the basilica of St. Nicolas in Myra, the drowned city Kekova, the Saklikenk gorge, the falls at the Yaka Park in the Taurus mountains, the ghost town of Kayakoy, the market of Fethye, Olu Deniz, the sarcophagus and ruins of Antiphellos (the present day Kas); you won’t have to be bored one single day. In the guestbook that you will find at Villa Padişah, we have collected several day trips for you, where you will definitely find some to your liking!

Kalkan and its surroundings also offer all the possibilities on the sporting domain: walking (there are many well guided walking trails), horse back riding through the National Park and along the Patara Beach, canoeing on the Xanthos river, sea kayaking around Kekova and of course all thinkable water sports. Snorkelling, diving in the most beautiful underwater region of the Turkish coasts, waterskiing, etc.
Very special are the Beach Clubs, which you can reach by foot, by car or by (water) taxi. On the day you can practise sports in any thinkable way, and in the evening you can enjoy a delightful diner or a dazzling disco.
The Yacht Club in Kalkan is right next to the harbour, the Asifya Hotel shuttle will take you to Yali Beach, and in the Bay of Kalamar you will find the Kalamar Beach Club. The water taxi will also take you to Club Lykia or the Mahal Beach Club.
Finally a suggestion: the coastal route to the town of Kas, a bit further down and very much worth while a visit, is an absolute must! A drive of half an hour with the most breathtaking views of Turkey.
Kalkan and its direct surroundings have several doctors, dentists, pharmacists and a hospital, which supply good care and speak English well. (you will find all the information on this in the guestbook in the villa)
